I went into ‘Fan’ with a great deal of
trepidation, wondering how Maneesh Sharma’s new film would bring out: a
Bollywood superstar playing a Bollywood superstar and his biggest fan. I thought
that it could either be a Meta delight or just unpleasant.
This movie has extremely done well in
the box office and is likely to be memorable for most,
especially for shah ruhk khan fans. It is a wonderful, grasping, knowing performance of the
actor which made it a blockbuster movie in the film industry.
This movie could connect to million
hearts as it gives a clear message that how compulsive fandom disturbs star’s life.
These notify the public that there
is a limit to the fandom and star’s also have their private life wherein fans
no rights to disturb it.
There's
no place for the mandatory song-and-dance routine in FAN, since the narrative
relies completely on drama and tension. On the whole, FAN has
a brilliant first half, but loses track in the second hour, only to pick up
again towards the pre-climax. According to me the writing should've been
tighter, as the absence of music may also prove a stumbling block, but what
works, and works big time, is the terrific act by SRK as the fan. And that's
enough reason for you to watch this thriller movie FAN.
