THE END OF COURTEOUS MAN

         The Central Bureau of Investigation  made its first arrest in the Narendra Dabholkar murder case on Friday. Dr Virendra Tawade of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti was arrested in connection with the case.

The CBI had taken over this case in May 2014 on the directions of the Bombay High Court. Dabholkar, a rationalist and an anti-superstition activist who had founded the Maharashtra Andhashradhha Unmoolan Samiti, was shot dead on August 20, 2013 while he was on a morning walk on the Omkareshwar bridge near the Balgandharva Rangamandir.

Dabholkar was 68 at the time of his death. He was the influence behind the anti-superstition bill which was pending in Maharashtra Assembly for 18 years

On May 10, 2014, the court transferred Dabholkar’s case from Pune Police to CBI. However, the probe moved in the same fashion for about a year. In July 2015, Dabholkar’s family members approached the court requesting it to monitor the CBI probe.

In May 2016, the Court again pulled up CBI for ‘shoddy’ investigation in the case after which it began fresh searches in Panvel and Pune. The Pune residence of Sarang Akolkar, an activist of Sanatan Sanstha also wanted in the 2009 Goa blast case, and the Panvel residence of Dr Virendra Tawde, who works as a medical officer for the Hindu outfit, were searched.
            The case is still an mystery. A man walking on a road was suddenly shot but no one could recognise them. He was a slight and courteous man,with unfashionable spectacles,in simple khadi shirt,slippers and cotton trousers:no one to notice on the street.When he was shot he had no intentions of offering a garland there,saying a prayer,pressing a coin in priest's hand or adoring the SHIVA LINGA. He did not believe in such behaviour.Infact, it appaled him; and he had hoped to spread his thoughts through the state of Maharashtra.
          How the world could be so cruel to a person who has sacrificed his own life for the betterment of society. I really don't know where this world is heading towards. The man who made this country free from BLACK MAGIC  was killed and its darkness took over his life.Naturally,he was also dedicated  to non-violence.His critics accused him of wanting to destroy all religion;but even its idols he treated with respect.There was no other way,he said.In this,as in human rationality,he had unshakebale belief.His enemies did.

An Innocent Soul Killing- Sheena Bora

Sheena Bora, daughter of Indrani Mukherjea was killed and Indrani and his husband Peter Mukherjea were arrested for the murder of Sheena Bora. What started as a conversation between few fellow journalists at a bustling cafe in Khan Market in Delhi made journalist and author, Shantanu Guha Ray revisit some of the most gruesome murders that took place in the country. From Ponty Chadha and his brother’s shootings to Sheena Bora’s case which kept the country on the edge of its seats. Sheena Bora, an executive working for Mumbai Metro One based in Mumbai, went missing on April 24, 2012. In August 2015 Mumbai Police arrested her mother Indrani Mukerjea, her stepfather Sanjeev Khanna, and her mother's driver, Shyamvar Pinturam Rai, for allegedly abducting and killing her and subsequently burning her corpse. Khanna and Rai confessed to the crime, and Mukerjea has said that Sheena Bora is living in the United States. Sheena Bora and Mikhail Bora were the two offsprings of Indrani Mukherjea(Pori Bora) and Sidharth Das. Indrani left Sheena and Mikhail to their grandparents in Guwahati and moved to Kolkata. The 2 studied computers and stayed as paying guest. Indrani met Sanjeev Khanna in Kolkata and the 2 had a daughter , they divorced in 2002.

Later Indrani married Peter Mukherjea , Peter had a son named Rahul. And hence she was now known as Indrani Mukherjea. When Sheena Bora learned about her mother and moved to Mumbai, Indrani introduced her as her younger sister. Sheena was admitted to St. Xavier's College where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree (2006-2009). In 2009, she joined Reliance Infrastructure as a management trainee. In June 2011, Sheena joined Mumbai Metro One as an assistant manager. On 24 April 2012, Sheena took a leave of absence and "sent in her written resignation". On the same day, Rahul Mukerjea (Sheena's step-brother who she was dating) received a breakup SMS from Sheena's phone. Her mother, Indrani, said that Sheena had gone to the United States for higher studies and hence a missing First Information Report was never filed. Rahul grew curious about the fact that how could Sheena simply leave for the US without informing her, so On Rahul's insistence, police visited Indrani's Worli residence where they were informed by the staff that Indrani was out of India. Upon her return, Indrani visited the Worli police station and informed the police that Rahul was trying to stalk Sheena and that was why Sheena had moved to the United States without informing him. Four months before her arrest, Mumbai police commenced surveillance of Indrani. The surveillance was initiated after a tip-off. Shyamvar Pinturam Rai, Indrani's driver, was arrested on August 21, 2015 for possession of illegal weapons and it was alleged that, during his interrogation, he revealed details of Sheena Bora's murder. On August 26, 2015, Sheena's brother Mikhail revealed that she was Indrani's daughter rather than sister.

it was Rai's allegation that Indrani had planned it and had discussed it with her ex-husband, Sanjeev Khanna. He alleged that Indrani had surveyed a likely area to dump the body the evening before the murder. On April 24, 2012, Khanna had flown to Mumbai and checked into the Hotel Hilltop at Worli. Rai alleged that Indrani had rented an Opel Corsa to facilitate abduction of Sheena and for disposal of her body. Indrani, he claimed, had earlier asked Sheena to meet her on the evening of April 24, 2012 and, though reluctant, she had agreed. At about 1800 hours on April 24, 2012, he went on, Indrani was joined by her ex-husband at his hotel in Worli. An hour later, when Sheena was dropped off by Rahul Mukerjea near National College on Linking Road in Bandra, Indrani, Sanjeev and driver Rai were there to meet her. Rai's account continued, alleging that Indrani sat next to him while Sheena was in the rear seat with Khanna. He said they took her to one of the by-lanes in Bandra and Khanna strangled her.

The police claimed that, after the murder, Sheena's body was taken to Indrani's house on Worli where it was put in a bag and stuffed in the trunk of the car.

Rai alleged that Khanna later left for his hotel while Indrani stayed home and Rai slept inside the car with the body in the trunk. In the early hours of April 25, 2012, he said, the three accused drove to the village of Gagode in Pen tehsil, Raigad. Concerned about the possibility of police checks, they propped Sheena's body up between Indrani and Khanna on the rear seat, as if asleep, rather than putting it in the boot.

On August 25, 2015, Mumbai police arrested Indrani Mukerjea accusing her of murdering Sheena Bora. Indrani was charged under sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and 34 (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and taken to the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrates' court, which remanded her in police custody. On August 26, 2015 Indrani's ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna was also arrested in Kolkata and charged under sections 364 (kidnapping), 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and 120-B (conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code in the same issue. In the book of Shantanu Guha Ray , Sheena Bora’s murder case is detailed which leaves a shocking impact on the reader’s mind that a mother killed her own daughter because she was afraid that on later life she will come to claim her share of property. Mikhail also confessed that Indrani also had a plan to kill him but he was escaped because he was not there where Indrani expected him to be.



This case always fantasized me because it was complex to understand of how many people did Indrani marry and how many kids did she have but Shantanu Ray cleared all my doubts when i read his book “Found Dead” which is a combination of 9 gruesome murder cases and his research and interviews related to the case. A must read book which unmasks the brutality of human race and a doubt that does humanity still exist?

Stalker hangs self in front of woman's door

Residents of a society in Nerul were left horrified last morning, when a 26-year-old, who was obsessed with a woman from the building, hanged himself right outside her home. The police have registered an accidental death report in the case.

The deceased has been identified as Kisan Rawal, who originally hails from Gujarat and lived alone in Nerul. The woman, daughter of a Class IV official in a municipal hospital, lived on the seventh floor of Shanti Park Society of Sector 23, Nerul. The accused is likely to have taken the step after the woman filed a police complaint against Rawal for stalking her. "On Monday, when Rawal was following the woman towards her building, he was stopped by a few residents and the watchman. While they threatened him and drove him away, the woman decided to approach the Nerul police the following day. A non-cognisable offence was registered against him," said an official with the Nerul police station.

But, on Thursday morning, when the woman opened the main door of her building, she found Rawal hanging from a rod. "Rawal used an iron rod, which he had fixed to an exit window in the passage, to hang himself," said an official. "We are also investigating why he took such a drastic step," said Ashok Rajput, senior police inspector, Nerul police station.

Whenever we pronounce these two words, it comes hand in hand, without technology media is unimaginable in the present era, but the surprising fact is media existed even when technology was not developed and the best example of this is when language developed in human race and then slowly the print media which has been inherited from so many decades although printing itself has a technology and hence we can’t talk about media without technology. It is like the media is the skeleton and the rest body functioning on later stages are done by the technology. One is dependent on the other. If we talk about technology, it is a vast field which includes a lot of science, maths and new inventions but when it comes to informing to the public about any new technology, the very first one to share it will be the media. Media is divided into many subdivisions like Print, Radio, TV, Films, Advertisements and nowadays in each of the stream of media creating content needs the help of technology, it improvises and gives the content a better look. Often these two terms are used together as “Media Technology”. As i said before Media depend on technology, but technology is only one element of media. Thus we can think of the Internet as merely a technological system, or as a medium that contains unique formats and symbol systems that help convey meaning and knowledge. Computing can also be considered a medium in this context. Computing as a medium would include animations, online social networking, using a search engine, or designing and using simulations. Thus Google uses a search engine as its primary technology, but we can classify Google as a medium, since it needs content and content providers, and an end user who defines the parameters of the search, in addition to the technology of computer algorithms to assist the search. Thus the creation, communication and interpretation of meaning are added features that turn a technology into a medium. Over time, media have become more complex, with newer media (e.g. television) incorporating some of the components of earlier media (e.g. audio) as well as adding another medium (video). Digital media and the Internet increasingly are incorporating and integrating all previous media, such as text, audio, and video, and adding new media components, such as animation, simulation, and interactivity. When digital media incorporate many of these components they become ‘rich media’. Thus one major advantage of the Internet is that it encompasses all the representational media of text, graphics, audio, video and computing.

Mumbai, or what a true lover of this city would call "Bombay", is the commercial capital of India. But there are many, many more aspects to this city. Mumbai in itself is not just a city, it is the kind of feeling that never leaves a Mumbaikar.

For Bollywood buffs, this city is like a pilgrimage place with so many actors residing here. Also, one can often find film shooting happening in some or the other part of the city.

Mumbai probably has one of the best local train connectivity and services in the entire country, thereby making it every Mumbaikar's lifeline.

Being a cosmopolitan city, one can find people from every part of the country here. People of different state, religions, castes, races are seen to live and work here, together in harmony. Needless to say every festival from every state is celebrated with equal enthusiasm. Also, one will find temples like Siddhivinayak and Mahalakshmi, mosques like the Haji Ali Dargah and churches like the Mount Mary church here.

One can find cuisines from all over the country here. And also food joints serving international cuisines with the authentic flavors. But one cannot call themselves a true Mumbaikar if he/she has not eaten vada pav for lunch or bragged to others about how Mumbai serves the best pav bhaji.

Each resident of this city lives with a spirit true to the "city that never sleeps". This is where citizens from various parts of the country come to fulfill their dreams. No wonder, we call आमची  मुंबई the city of dreams.

A Car Ride,Gone Wrong

Mumbai-based businessman Salim Sabuwala and high-profile lawyer Janhavi Gadkar were both out celebrating on Tuesday but the day ended very differently for them.

The Audi Q3 driven by an intoxicated Gadkar at a speed of more than 120kmph slammed into the taxi in which Saboonwala’s family was travelling early on Tuesday morning, killing the businessman and the driver. Four others were injured, including Saboonwala’s wife Hafeeza.

Gadkar, who escaped with a few bruises as her car’s airbag deployed, was driving on the wrong side of the Eastern Freeway. The 35-year-old vice-president of the legal team with Reliance Industries Limited was returning to her home in Chembur after a night out with two friends at a south Mumbai hotel to celebrate a corporate deal.

Police officials confirmed Gadkar was drunk at the time of the accident. They said a test had confirmed the presence of alcohol in her blood. This was reportedly the first drunk driving accident on the 17km freeway that opened in June 2013 and connects the eastern suburbs with south Mumbai.

"She drove on the wrong side of the road from the start of the freeway and, around 1am, she crashed into a taxi at Shivaji Nagar near Chembur," said Jivajirao Jadhav, assistant commissioner of police for Trombay division.
Gadkar, who drove on the wrong side of the road for almost 10km, was charged with rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder and sent to police custody.

The impact of the crash was so severe that the entire front of the taxi was crushed, instantly killing its 57-year-old driver, Mohamed Sayyed.
Saboonwala, 50, suffered grave injuries and was taken to Sion hospital, where he died. His wife Hafeeza is in the ICU with three fractures while Saboonwala’s daughters Sadiya and Salma too were injured.

Just before the accident, two motorists narrowly escaped colliding with Gadkar’s car moving in the wrong direction. "The motorists had taken a U-turn to stop her. But before they could catch up, she crashed into the taxi," said Jadhav.

Being a woman, Gadkar could not be arrested at night and was asked to leave the police station. She was formally arrested at sunrise and produced in a local court that remanded her in police custody for a day, said a police official.

Gadkar told police she left South Mumbai around 10 pm but stopped on Marine Drive and sat in her car for about two hours before resuming her journey home around12.30 am.

The police said Gadkar was saved by her Audi’s airbag.

                        "9/11 Terror Attack"

On September 11, 2001, at 8:45 a.m. on a clear Tuesday morning, an American Airlines Boeing 767 loaded with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. The impact left a gaping, burning hole near the 80th floor of the 110-story skyscraper, instantly killing hundreds of people and trapping hundreds more in higher floors. As the evacuation of the tower and its twin got underway, television cameras broadcasted live images of what initially appeared to be a freak accident. Then, 18 minutes after the first plane hit, a second Boeing 767–United Airlines Flight 175–appeared out of the sky, turned sharply toward the World Trade Center and sliced into the south tower near the 60th floor. The collision caused a massive explosion that showered burning debris over surrounding buildings and the streets below. America was under attack.
The attackers were Islamic terrorists from Saudi Arabia and several other Arab nations. Reportedly financed by Saudi fugitive Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda terrorist organization, they were allegedly acting in retaliation for America’s support of Israel, its involvement in the Persian Gulf War and its continued military presence in the Middle East. Some of the terrorists had lived in the United States for more than a year and had taken flying lessons at American commercial flight schools. Others had slipped into the country in the months before September 11 and acted as the “muscle” in the operation. The 19 terrorists easily smuggled box-cutters and knives through security at three East Coast airports and boarded four flights bound for California, chosen because the planes were loaded with fuel for the long transcontinental journey. Soon after takeoff, the terrorists commandeered the four planes and took the controls, transforming ordinary commuter jets into guided missiles.

As millions watched the events unfolding in New York, American Airlines Flight 77 circled over downtown Washington, D.C., and slammed into the west side of the Pentagon military headquarters at 9:45 a.m. Jet fuel from the Boeing 757 caused a devastating inferno that led to the structural collapse of a portion of the giant concrete building. All told, 125 military personnel and civilians were killed in the Pentagon, along with all 64 people aboard the airliner.

Less than 15 minutes after the terrorists struck the nerve center of the U.S. military, the horror in New York took a catastrophic turn for the worse when the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed in a massive cloud of dust and smoke. The structural steel of the skyscraper, built to withstand winds in excess of 200 miles per hour and a large conventional fire, could not withstand the tremendous heat generated by the burning jet fuel. At 10:30 a.m., the other Trade Center tower collapsed. Close to 3,000 people died in the World Trade Center and its vicinity, including a staggering 343 firefighters and paramedics, 23 New York City police officers and 37 Port Authority police officers who were struggling to complete an evacuation of the buildings and save the office workers trapped on higher floors. Only six people in the World Trade Center towers at the time of their collapse survived. Almost 10,000 others were treated for injuries, many severe.
